We suggest that you contact the homeroom teacher well in advance to inform them of the anticipated absences and to receive a general overview of the topics that will be covered during your child's absence. 

It is important to understand that your child’s teacher is not required to provide program activities during these trips.

Upon return from the trip, it is the student’s and parent’s responsibility to arrange for the completion of missed work and assignments.

Suggested Activities During Your Trip

In order to minimize the impact of your child’s absence, we suggest that your child:

1. Read and write every day.
   Example—write a journal about the trip
   
   
2. Practice math skills every day.
   Practice books are available in educational supply stores. Your teacher may also have some ready-made practice worksheets to share with you.
